Partridgeberry Jam and Bakeapple Ballads starting Jan 23!

PARTRIDGEBERRY COMPOTE – A NEWFOUNDLAND TUNE COURSE
This session of Partridgeberry Jam will open its lid to a wider range of instruments. Come join renowned fiddler Christina Smith with your fiddle, mandolin or D accordion to learn 10 new tunes! Each week you’ll receive a new tune via email – the notes and the mp3. On Thursday evening you will work on the tune. Jean Hewson will accompany the class on guitar at the end of each session. Participants should have some facility on the instrument.

BAKEAPPLE BALLADS: A NEWFOUNDLAND SONG AND GUITAR COURSE

Looking for a musical challenge in the New Year? Sign up for Bakeapple Ballads: A ten-week guitar/vocal class on using the guitar to accompany Newfoundland traditional songs.
Well-known guitarist/traditional singer Jean Hewson will teach a new song every week, focusing on acquiring the musical tools to help you create interesting guitar accompaniments. Jean will cover strumming and finger-style patterns, chord progressions, and other techniques for creating fun-to-play musical settings. Participants should be well-versed in the basics of guitar. Willingness to sing is also an asset!
